Prospering communities for a strong nation
The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) has been actively promoting communities around the world while protecting their right to maintain the Ukrainian identity through the celebration of heritage, culture and language. It is the role of the UWC to ensure that this fundamental right is respected and that our communities continue to flourish.
The UWC is proud of the many accomplishments of Ukrainian communities worldwide, including those with decade-long histories and those, which have been established more recently.
-
After 64 years, the Narodnyi Dim (Peoples’ Home) in Przemysl, Poland, was officially returned to the Ukrainian community by Polish authorities. This will undoubtedly become a center for the development and preservation of the Ukrainian peoples’ national heritage.
-
Countries such as Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain have welcomed new immigrants from Ukraine who have effectively organized community life, including Ukrainian schools, libraries, media outlets and cultural centres.
-
The UWC continues to raise international awareness of the obstacles being faced by Ukrainians in Russia while defending their national minority and human rights.
The UWC needs your financial support to continue working on behalf of Ukrainians around the world. We believe that a prosperous international Ukrainian community will also strengthen an independent, democratic Ukraine on its path to European integration.
The UWC is an international coordinating body with member organizations in 32 countries. For more information about the UWC and its activities visit www.ukrainianworldcongress.org
