Invitation to join the 45th Anniversary Commemorations of the UWC This year the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) is commemorating its 45th anniversary.
The UWC calls upon all of its member organizations to mark this anniversary with various cultural‑educational initiatives, for example, town hall meetings, conferences, round table discussions, youth contests, radio and television broadcasts, to name only a few. The planned events should focus on UWC’s activities, such as enhancing ties among Ukrainian communities around the world, furthering the development of community life, the defense of fundamental rights and freedoms of Ukrainians and strengthening Ukraine as an independent, democratic European state.

UWC to Monitor Ukraine's Parliamentary Elections
In response to the Foreign Minister of Ukraine’s January 25th pledge to invite International Election Observers to monitor the upcoming October 28th parliamentary elections, the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) has announced that it will once again actively participate in Ukraine’s electoral process by hosting a delegation of International Election Observers

The National Institute for Strategic Studies Under the President оf Ukraine Attempts to Marginalize the Ukrainian World Congress
On the official web site of the National Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of Ukraine, the main scientific research agency which prepares analytical forecasts to guide the activity of the President of Ukraine, a recommendation is made to describe the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), not as an international coordinating body representing the interests of the Ukrainian diaspora, but rather, [unofficial translation] “at best, as a representative of only a specific segment, or more accurately, certain circles of the Ukrainian diaspora.”
In an analysis entitled [unofficial translation] “The technology of securing Ukraine’s informational competitiveness in today's world: conclusions for Ukraine,” it is stated that: [unofficial translation] “In the current situation, the UWC ought to be described, at best, as a representative of only a specific ..."

UWC Calls Upon Ukrainian Government Authorities to Ensure the Erection of a Monument in Honour of T. Shevchenko in the Vinnytsia Main Square
On February 8, 2012, the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) sent a letter to President Viktor Yanukovych with a copy to the mayor of Vinnytsia, Volodymyr Groysman, expressing concern about the obstacles to erecting a monument in the Vinnytsia main square in honour of a brilliant son of the Ukrainian nation, the great Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko.

UWC Supports the Nomination of Yulia Tymoshenko for a Nobel Prize
On February 3, 2012, the Ukrainian World Congress sent a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee in support of the nomination by several members of Ukraine’s Parliament of the jailed opposition leader and former Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko, for the Nobel Peace Prize.

UWC Expresses Serious Concern over Reported Extremely Grave Medical Condition of Opposition Leader Yulia Tymoshenko
In a letter to the international community, dated November 22, 2011, the Ukrainian World Congress has expressed serious concern over a report that the medical condition of Yulia Tymoshenko, Ukraine’s former Prime Minister, is “extremely grave”.
According to a BBC report on November 21, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Nina Karpachova paid an unannounced visit to Yulia Tymoshenko’s cell in the Lukyanivka prison.
