Together in the new world: UWC leadership holds a video meeting with His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC)
The Ukrainian World Congress continues active collaboration with key partners. During the videoconference with His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, (UGCC), UWC leadership discussed important humanitarian, socio-economic and other issues of supporting Ukrainian communities worldwide. UWC President Paul Grod, First Vice President Stefan Romaniw, Vice President Andrew Futey, UWC Executive Director Mariia Kupriianova and Director of UWC Mission to Ukraine Serhiy Kasyanchuk took part in the meeting.
UWC President thanked the Head of UGCC and highlighted some of the new initiatives of the COVID-19 Task Force, including efficient joint assistance to those who need it the most now in Ukraine and globally, as well as virtual pastoral guidance to support the resilience of our communities. The conversation also focused on the importance of collaboration between the Church, diaspora and humanitarian organizations in response to the effects of the pandemic.
“Even the new quarantine isolation measures will not deprive us of the sense of community. We are learning to be together in the new reality. Spiritual guidance continues to be an important basis for the unity of our communities worldwide. We are grateful to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church For the wise guidance and supporting resilience in these challenging times. We are developing and coordinating global cooperation amid today’s challenges and in the post-quarantine world” – stated Paul Grod, UWC President.
