Director of UWC Mission to Ukraine addresses Forum “Donbas Ukraine. Daily Agenda” in Slovyansk
On 5 July 2015 the Director of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) Mission to Ukraine, Serhiy Kasyanchuk, participated in, and delivered a presentation during the forum titled “Donbas Ukraine. Daily Agenda” which was held in Slovyansk with the goal of finding the means to jointly address the current issues facing Donbas.
In his presentation, Serhiy Kasyanchuk emphasized the tremendous potential of Ukraine. He noted that the means to resolving the challenges lie in the dialogue of civil society and the common denominators. As examples, Serhiy Kasyanchuk highlighted the events of EuroMaidan and the current level of activity of the Ukrainian diaspora in support of Ukraine’s future. He also called upon participants to initiate projects locally, take responsibility and jointly rebuild the ruins.
Participating in this forum, organized in the framework of the International Centre for Prospective Research project, were representatives of government ministries, foreign diplomatic missions, local governing authorities in Donbas, people’s deputies, volunteer organizations working in Eastern Ukraine and community activists.
