Ukrainian World Congress Annual General Meeting opens in Kyiv, Ukraine
On 25 August 2016 at the Taras Shevchenko National University in Kyiv, Ukraine, the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) Annual General Meeting (AGM) opened with the participation of 137 delegates and guests from 28 countries.
Participants of the AGM were greeted by the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Kyiv Patriarchate, His Holiness Patriarch Filaret, the Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Patriarch Sviatoslav (Shevchuk), Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy and other representatives of the governing authorities and institutions of Ukraine.
In addition to the presentation of reports on UWC activities from the past year, the AGM agenda includes a series of round table discussions on the following topics: Coordination of support for Ukraine, UWC Humanitarian aid initiatives in Ukraine, Promoting the positive image of Ukraine, Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the UWC, and Supporting the economic development of Ukraine.
The UWC AGM continues through 27 August 2016.
