Ukrainian World Congress congratulates His Beatitude Epifaniy on enthronement as Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine
The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) congratulates His Beatitude Epifaniy on being installed Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine during an enthronement ceremony held in St. Sophia Sobor on 3 February 2019.
The establishment of a single native Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the granting of a Tomos of autocephaly are historic moments of global magnitude that complete the process of attaining the independence of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine from Russia, and realize the aspirations of many generations of Orthodox Christians in Ukraine and the diaspora.
“The Ukrainian World Congress shares in the joy of the enthronement and assures His Beatitude Epifaniy of its all-round support for the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, particularly in addressing important current issues including the unification of Orthodox communities, the recognition of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in the world and the strengthening of its ties with the global Ukrainian community,” stated UWC President Paul Grod. “In His Beatitude Epifaniy the Orthodox Church of Ukraine has a selfless and distinguished leader prepared to accomplish the complex tasks of its development and consolidation throughout the world.”
The enthronement ceremony was attended by Director of the UWC Mission in Ukraine Serhiy Kasyanchuk who presented Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine His Beatitude Epifaniy with a congratulatory letter from the UWC.
