UWC condemns terrorist acts by Russia-backed militants against innocent Ukrainian civilians and calls upon the international community to react
The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) expresses deepest condolences to the families of the victims of a terrorist attack in Donetsk, Ukraine, on 22 January 2015.
Eight innocent civilians were killed and 13 wounded when shell fire from Russia-backed militants hit a trolleybus.
The UWC condemns this terrorist act and draws the attention of the international community to the increasing number of terrorist acts by Russia-backed militants, the victims of which are innocent civilians of Eastern Ukraine, including children.
“The Ukrainian World Congress calls upon the international community to immediately react to the terrorist acts by Russia-backed militants in Eastern Ukraine, and specifically, to add the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics to the list of terrorist organizations and strengthen sanctions against Russia which continues to arm and support the terrorists,” commented UWC President Eugene Czolij.
