UWC President Eugene Czolij delivers greetings to Gala Commemoration of 200th anniversary of Lviv Polytechnic
On 7 December 2016 in Lviv, Ukraine, Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Eugene Czolij participated in a prayer service at St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Cathedral and delivered greetings during the Gala Commemoration on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Lviv Polytechnic National University that was held at the Solomiya Krushelnytska Lviv National Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Eugene Czolij extended greetings to Lviv Polytechnic on behalf of UWC and personally as an Honorary Doctor of the University, and recognized its significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian education and society while nurturing in its students an acute level of national awareness and love for Ukraine. The UWC President highlighted the long-term productive cooperation between the UWC and its member organizations around the world and Lviv Polytechnic led by Professor Dr. Yuriy Bobalo and its International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations under the leadership of Dr. Iryna Kluchkovska. This cooperation is primarily related to Ukraine and the Ukrainian diaspora, strengthening ties between the Ukrainian diaspora and the people of Ukraine, the development of Ukrainian education and culture and furthering Ukrainian priorities on the international stage.
“I look forward to further cooperation with Lviv Polytechnic and extend best wishes for creative success in the field of education and science,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
The UWC President also met with the Rector of Lviv Polytechnic, Professor Dr. Yuriy Bobalo, whom he presented with an icon of the Blessed Mother of God with the hope that She will keep Lviv Polytechnic in Her graces.
Accompanying the UWC President at commemorative events was Director of the UWC Mission to Ukraine Serhiy Kasyanchuk.
