Ukrainians come together to help Australia’s wildfire victims
Co-Chair of the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations Stefan Romaniw presented a cheque for over $ 67,000 to the Australian Red Cross.
The Ukrainian community in Australia rallied together to help raise an impressive amount of money during a relatively short period of time over the Christmas holidays to help victims of the devastating wildfires.
They achieved this by carolling and through other festive fundraising activities.
“The tragic events in Australia have touched the world and demonstrated how the global Ukrainian community can come together to really help those who need it the most, not just by liking posts on Facebook. Extending a helping hand to your neighbour is a Ukrainian trait and tradition. I thank everyone who has contributed to this important fundraising effort,”said Stefan Romaniw.
