AFUO launches online platform to rally parliamentary support for Ukraine

The Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organizations (AFUO) has unveiled a new online platform designed to empower members of the Ukrainian community in Australia to easily contact their local Member of Parliament. 

The streamlined AFUO tool allows users to send pre-drafted or personalized letters that urge lawmakers to step up their support for Ukraine and hold Russia accountable for its war crimes. 

“We have to do our part in Australia to help bring an end to the daily war crimes that russia is committing against Ukrainians,” the organization said.

Users with a few clicks can call on parliament to take specific actions – such as halting the import of Russian cruise oil, and to help Ukraine defend itself by sending more military equipment.

The organization acknowledged Australia’s unwavering support for Ukraine, highlighting the critical military equipment, including Bushmasters and Abrams tanks, that has already been supplied. 

“Ukraine will be forever grateful! Ukrainians are willing to fight for their freedom and the right to exist, but they desperately need the tools to get the job done – Australia has warehouses upon warehouses of old, decommissioned equipment that is of no use here, but would save lives in Ukraine!” the AFUO said.

The platform for sending these appeals is readily available online.
