On International Children’s Day of June 1, the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) urges Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine around the world to join the #StandWithUkrainianChildren campaign and help protect the future of Ukraine’s children who undergo constant Russian bombardment.
The main goal of this year’s campaign is to mobilize the global community and political leaders to protect Ukrainian children, to guarantee their future in Ukraine, and to stop Russia’s war crimes against children.
Our key advocacy goals:
- Protection of Ukrainian children on the territory of Ukraine, in particular, calls to provide modern air defense systems.
- Advocacy for the return of more than 20,000 Ukrainian children illegally deported to Russia without their family’s consent, publication of documented cases of abduction, and calls for diplomatic pressure and sanctions against those responsible.
- Full support for Ukraine (military, defense, financial) in order to win the war and bring Ukrainian children home.
“Ukraine’s victory will mean the return of the children, and the return of the children means preserving Ukraine’s future,” said Volodymyr Kogutyak, Chair of the UWC Advocacy Committee.
We call on Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine to join rallies and peaceful demonstrations on Sunday, June 1, to share the stories of Ukrainian children, and to spread informational materials.
