Ukraine strikes major fuel pumping station in Russia’s Bryansk region, disturbing supply to military units

Ukrainian forces conducted a coordinated overnight strike on a key fuel facility in Russia’s Bryansk region that neighbors Ukraine, the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces said on Aug. 29.

The attack targeted a linear production station near the village of Naytopovychi, the statement said. It added that the strike was conducted jointly by missile and artillery units, drone forces, special operations troops, and Ukraine’s Security Service.

A fire broke out at the site, though the extent of the damage is still being assessed, according to the General Staff. The station pumps diesel fuel through main product pipelines, including to Russian military units, with an annual capacity of around 10.5 million tons, Ukrainian officials said.
