Danish, Ukrainian activists back Ukraine’s progress on anti-graft reforms

Ukrainian and Danish civil society leaders met at Denmark’s national legislature to discuss Ukraine’s ongoing fight against corruption while focusing on reforms that remain fragile despite progress in transparency.

The closed meeting was co-organized by Hjælp Ukrainske Børn (Help Ukrainian Children), a member of the Ukrainian Association of Denmark, together with the Danish Helsinki Committee, Freedom for Ukraine, and Ukrainian Dialogues.

The event coincided with an official visit by a Ukrainian delegation that focused on anti-corruption efforts.

“The delegation included members of parliament and leaders of Ukraine’s leading anti-corruption organizations, among them Anastasiia Radina, chair of the Verkhovna Rada’s Anti-Corruption Committee, along with other experts,” the organizers said.

Organizers said that supporting independent anti-corruption bodies is essential to guarantee the effective use of international assistance.

“For Hjælp Ukrainske Børn, participating in such initiatives is important because donor and partner confidence in Ukraine directly affects our ability to help children and families affected by the war,” the organization said.
