Download UWC’s template on call to ban Russians in sports and culture

The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) urges the international community to confront Russian aggression at every level, from political and economic decisions to cultural arenas.

A key step in this effort is to bar athletes and performers who directly or indirectly support Russian aggression toward Ukraine from participating in international events.

Their appearances abroad only lend service to Kremlin propaganda tools that seek to legitimize Moscow’s crimes and distract global attention from the ongoing war that is already in its 11th year.

To empower Ukrainian communities worldwide to respond swiftly and effectively, the UWC has prepared letter templates to address governments, and urges them to restrict such individuals from public engagements.

Sample letters in Ukrainian, English, and Spanish are available for download via the following link.

This call to action is part of the UWC’s global campaign, “Fight like a Ukrainian,” that was launched in honor of Ukraine’s Independence Day that takes place on Aug. 24. We on this day will mark the date not with silent reflection but with unwavering resolve.

As the fourth year of Russia’s full-scale war continues, the UWC appeals to Ukrainians and all freedom-loving people worldwide to stand with Ukraine.

“Fight like a Ukrainian” is more than a slogan. It is a commitment to persevere when everyone expects you to fall. It is a fight for freedom despite losses and pain. It is a belief that courage overcomes cruelty, and dignity remains unbreakable.

Every day, Ukrainian soldiers embody this strength. They withstand waves of missiles, drones, and unimaginable horror. They do not stop, and the entire nation stands with them: unbowed and undefeated.

This summer cannot pass in silence.

While much of the world enjoys rest, Ukraine continues to lose its sons and daughters. The price of freedom is too high to remain quiet. The time to act is now.
