Honorary Consult of Ukraine Argyrou meets King Charles III’s representative in Australia

New South Wales Gov. Margaret Beazly, the official representative of King Charles III in Australia, expressed strong interest in Ukraine and its community in the island country during a meeting with Kateryna Argyrou, the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Sydney, and head of the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organizations (AFUO). 

“It was a very warm meeting, with the Governor expressing a great deal of interest in Ukraine and our community’s work in Australia,” Argyrou said.

The discussion also covered the Ukrainian community’s fundraising efforts for the military in Ukraine, humanitarian initiatives, and the challenges faced by displaced Ukrainians.

“I shared my personal story of how russia’s invasion has deeply affected my family,” Argyrou said.

Beazley “expressed genuine interest in our recent advocacy efforts” as well as cultural and diplomatic events, added the AFUO Chair.

“I am grateful for the support expressed for Ukraine and our community,” Argyrou said.
