Kremlin stages over 70,000 Russian propaganda events in occupied Luhansk schools to indoctrinate youth

Russian occupation authorities have conducted more than 70,000 propaganda activities in schools across occupied areas of Luhansk over the past year, the National Resistance Center (NRC) reported.

The campaign, which targets children from primary through high school, is part of a systemic effort to instill pro-Russian narratives and loyalty to the Kemlin regime.

According to the NRC, the Russians reported “successes” under the “Luhansk Character” program, part of Kremlin ruler Vladimir Putin’s broader “First Movement” initiative.

“The Kremlin is shaping Ukrainian children into future subjects of its regime,” the NRC said.

The campaign culminated in a ceremonial event handing out Russian passports to 15 schoolchildren as part of the project “We are citizens of Russia.”

The NRC also reported that pro-Russian “volunteers” were brought to the occupied territories to promote so-called “family values” lessons in schools.

“These lecturers teach senior students about ‘family values,’ but it is not about supporting families, it imposes gender roles, emphasizing male dominance and diminishes the role of women,” the NRC said.

The organization warned that these volunteers are working directly in schools to indoctrinate a new generation with repressive ideas, further entrenching Russian influence over occupied populations.
