Past awardee urges nominations to spotlight UWC’s 2025 ‘30 under 30’ award

Liubov Poshyvailo-Strube, a scholar and one of the 2021 winners of the UWC Global Youth Award “30 Under 30,” is calling on communities to submit nominations for the 2025 edition.

“‘30 Under 30’ is not a competition or a race. It’s a chance to recognize active young Ukrainians in the diaspora — those who, while living abroad, support Ukraine, work for its development, and defend its values even in the most remote corners of the world. These are the people who stand with Ukraine in its struggles and respond to its needs,” Poshyvailo-Strube said.

She added: “Each person has their own beliefs, ideas, and dreams — their own path and life story. But despite the differences, they are united by love for Ukraine and pride in belonging to it.”

Poshyvailo-Strube said that “these are people who create, get discouraged, fall, find the strength to rise again, and move forward with renewed energy. They are those who can bring others together and lead them toward a shared goal.”

She expressed hope that this year’s nominations will surface the most inspiring stories yet of young Ukrainians in the diaspora.

“Stories that inspire, motivate, and unite. I wish all nominees success — and to all of us and our country, the victory we long for,” she said.

Applications are now open for the award, which recognizes young and active Ukrainians around the world.

Organizers have already received several dozen applications and encourage everyone to join in and submit nominations by Sept. 30, 2025. Ukrainian community organizations and community leaders may nominate young and active Ukrainians who are impacting their communities and demonstrating leadership qualities.

UWC organizations and community leaders can nominate candidates by filling out a special form outlining the nominee’s achievements and goals. More details about the application process are available at the following link.
