Princess Royal Anne of Scotland has honored Hannah Beaton-Hawryluk, head of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB) in Edinburgh, by awarding her the title of Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
This prestigious recognition shines a high feature on her dedication to humanitarian work in response to Russia’s all-out war against Ukraine. According to UAGB Edinburgh, Beaton-Hawryluk left her job to fully dedicate herself to humanitarian aid in response to Russia’s full-scale illegal invasion of Ukraine.
In her acceptance speech, Beaton-Hawryluk expressed gratitude to the royal family for their support and belief in Ukraine, calling it “a vital encouragement for everyone helping Ukrainians during this difficult time.”
The MBE title is granted to individuals who have made significant contributions to public life, including charity work, volunteering, community support, cultural, or humanitarian efforts. It recognizes those whose dedication and efforts create meaningful change in their communities and contribute to the well-being of society.
Earlier, two other AUGB representatives, Mykhailo Kuziw and Petro Kuziw, were awarded the highest honor of the Ukrainian World Congress — the St. Volodymyr the Great Medal.
