Russia expands child repression in occupied Ukraine: Teachers ordered to spy on kids without Russian passports

Russia is implementing a chilling new phase of control in occupied Ukrainian territories by having teachers instructed in manuals titled “identify criminals” among schoolchildren who do not hold Russian passports.

According to the National Resistance Center (NRC), the Kremlin’s Education Ministry is effectively turning teachers into informants by forcing them to monitor and report children who are considered “migrants.”

In other words Ukrainian children who resist Russian citizenship.

“The Kremlin’s Ministry of Education sent teachers on occupied territories ‘recommendations’ on how to monitor the behavior of children considered ‘migrants’ — that is, those without Russian passports,” the statement said.

Similar instructions have also appeared in Russian regions including Bashkortostan, Sverdlovsk, and Smolensk.

The NRC said that these actions constitute a direct violation of children’s rights and demonstrate that Russian “education” in occupied territories is merely a façade for ideological influence, discrimination, and repression.

Previously, Russia began a new stage of propaganda in kindergartens in temporarily occupied Donetsk, placing even the youngest Ukrainian children under ideological pressure.
