UCCA mobilizes Ukrainians in the US to push for tougher sanctions on Russia

The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) and the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS) are urging U.S.-based Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine to contact the White House and call on President Donald Trump to impose new, comprehensive sanctions against Russia.

As expected from the genocidal criminal russian (sic) state, their campaign of terror has intensified. Civilians are being killed, homes destroyed, and critical infrastructure deliberately targeted,” wrote Andriy Futey, the Third Vice President of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) and UCCA’s Special Envoy for Ukraine.

He also provided step-by-step instructions on how to contact the White House. You can follow the link to get involved.

Futey warned that the situation is becoming increasingly critical, and the Ukrainian community’s response “must be swift, united, and unwavering.”

At this critical juncture in history, we must match russia’s (sic) brutal escalation with an even stronger and more decisive show of support for Ukraine. Our voice — as members of a vibrant and committed Ukrainian diaspora — matters now more than ever,” Futey said.

Trump is currently considering tougher sanctions on Russia, UCCA said.

We must act. This is our moment to influence policy and demand the bold action that Ukraine so desperately needs,” Futey said.

He added: “Freedom and democracy are more than just words… It is time to support Ukraine and defend Western values.”
