Ukrainian communities rally for Children’s Day within UWC’s #StandWithUkrainianChildren campaign

Ukrainian communities around the world held rallies on June 1 for International Children’s Day. The events took place as part of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) campaign #StandWithUkrainianChildren — protect the future of Ukrainian children.

Ukrainians in France protested on the streets of Paris, reported Volodymyr Kogutyak, UWC Vice President for Western Europe and Association of Ukrainians in France (AUF) Vice President.

Activists called on the international community to close the skies over Ukraine to Russian terror and to fight for the return of children deported by Russia.

“We strive to make our voices heard. Together we are united for justice and victory!”, Kogutyak said.

Ukrainians in Australia, under the leadership of Kateryna Argyrou, chair of the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organizations and a UWC Board of Directors member, also supported the UWC campaign.

The Malva branch of the Ukrainian Women’s Association in Australia marked Children’s Day by hosting workshops specifically designed for young children.

“Together, we are cultivating an environment where every child feels valued, essential, and joyful,” they said.

Representatives of the Ukrainian Youth Association (CYM) in Canada held a joint prayer for children.

The Ukrainian community in Budva, Montenegro, shared stories of Ukrainian children who have endured suffering due to Russian aggression in Ukraine.

People rallied in Stockholm. The Nordic Ukraine Forum organized the action on June 1.

“We continue our collective struggle. We thank Sweden for its great support. We thank everyone who comes to the demonstrations, who supports Ukraine. We believe that Ukraine will win, and with it, the entire democratic world,” the community said.

A march for Ukrainian children was held in London. “Today, we are delivering a letter from Ukrainian children to the Prime Minister of the UK.
Thank you for this opportunity! We urge all of you – do not forget the innocent souls who suffer far from home and their families!”, the organizers of the event said.
