The Ukrainian Society of Hong Kong hosted Ukrainian Culture Day on Sept. 14, celebrating their homeland’s rich cultural heritage.
The event featured workshops, a handicraft fair, traditional Ukrainian cuisine, and a musical performance that organizers said showcased “the vibrant spirit of Ukrainian culture.”
Speakers included Oliver Bräuner, Deputy Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany; Harvey Rouse, Ambassador and Head of the European Union Office in Hong Kong and Macao; and Olesia Melnychuk, Consul of the Embassy of Ukraine in China.
Organizers expressed special thanks to the Goethe-Institut Hongkong, the Ivan the Kozak Ukrainian restaurant, an online Ukrainian Skychenia children’s library in Hong Kong, and community members for their support in making the event possible.
Attendees had the opportunity to connect with community representatives, enjoy cultural traditions, and experience the unity of the Ukrainian community in Hong Kong.
“We warmly thank all the cherished guests and friends who joined us in this vibrant celebration of Ukrainian culture! Your presence made this event truly unforgettable!” the organizers said.
