Ukrainian community leader Sadokha salutes Portuguese candidate’s remarks on possible Russian collapse

Pavlo Sadokha, Vice President of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) for Southern Europe and President of the Union of Ukrainians in Portugal (UUP), has welcomed recent comments by Portuguese presidential candidate Henrique Gouveia e Melo, who publicly raised the prospect of a potential collapse of the Russian Federation.

Sadokha described the remarks as a significant political signal, noting they mark the first time a prominent Portuguese figure has spoken so candidly about this scenario.

“For the first time, a top-level Portuguese politician has spoken publicly about the possibility of the Russian empire breaking apart, and it is very positive that he made this statement while in Brazil,” Sadokha said.

Gouveia e Melo, currently visiting Brazil, said that Russia is showing signs of exhaustion and no longer has the capacity to continue its attacks on Ukraine.

“The Russian Federation is already showing early signs of economic exhaustion. Either it resolves this problem, or it risks collapsing and ceasing to be a federation, splitting into Russia and several other countries. We are at a critical stage, and I do not believe Russia can carry out greater aggression than it has already done,” the politician said.

According to Sadokha, such statements are important for shaping Europe’s stance on Russia’s future.
