Ukrainians in Denmark marched through the streets of Aarhus on Oct. 5 in support of Ukrainian prisoners of war who are held captive in Russia, the Association of Ukrainians in Denmark (AUD) reported.
“Under pouring rain, with soaked flags but warm hearts, we gathered at Lille Torv near Magasin to remind the world that Ukrainian prisoners of war have the right to freedom, dignity, and life,” AUD said.
The rallygoers carried Ukrainian flags and sang Ukraine’s national anthem.
“Each of you is an example of strength, solidarity, and love for Ukraine. You proved that when it comes to truth and humanity, no wind can stop us,” the organization said.
Such events are “a voice of freedom that crosses borders,” the AUD said.
“In a world where news changes every hour, it’s crucial not to let the topic of Ukraine fade away. When we take to the streets, we not only support our prisoners of war — we remind everyone that the war continues, and compassion is also a weapon,” the organization said.
Truth needs a voice, the community said.
“We believe that hope is stronger than darkness. We know our heroes will return home. And until that day comes, we will stand together, speak out, fight, and believe,” the organization said.
