Ukrainian World Congress appoints Juri Chabursky as Chief Development Officer

March 24, 2026 – The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), the global voice of Ukrainians worldwide, is pleased to announce the appointment of Juri Chabursky as Chief Development Officer, strengthening its leadership at a decisive moment for Ukraine and the global Ukrainian community.

As Chief Development Officer, Juri will lead UWC’s global development and fundraising strategy, working in close partnership with UWC leadership, member organizations, donors, and partners worldwide. His focus will be on:

  • Expanding and diversifying UWC’s global funding base through major donors, philanthropic foundations, and corporate partnerships
  • Strengthening long‑term, values‑aligned relationships that support UWC’s advocacy, humanitarian, and institution‑building work
  • Mobilizing the global Ukrainian community and friends of Ukraine around clear priorities that support victory for Ukraine, national recovery, and strong Ukrainian communities worldwide
  • Embedding best‑in‑class transparency, accountability, and donor stewardship across UWC’s development efforts

Juri Chabursky brings more than 25 years of senior leadership, business development, and fundraising experience, having served as a CEO, Chief Growth Officer, Vice President of Sales, and strategic advisor to mission‑driven organizations across North America and internationally. He is widely recognized for building high‑impact fundraising strategies, cultivating major donors and corporate partners, and translating mission into sustainable, measurable results.

Juri’s leadership is grounded in deep community roots. He grew up in Toronto’s Ukrainian community, shaped by families who arrived as post‑World War II refugees from Ukraine and built strong civic, cultural, and church institutions in both Canada and the U.S. He has remained committed to community service throughout his life, including serving as a cantor at St. Demetrius Church and running Plast scouting camps from Ontario to California. He and his wife Ulana have two children, raised with a strong sense of Ukrainian identity; the family currently resides in San Diego, California.

Commenting on the appointment, Paul Grod, President of the Ukrainian World Congress, said:

“Juri brings exactly what UWC needs at this moment: professional excellence, credibility with donors and partners, and a deep, personal commitment to the Ukrainian cause. His leadership will help us secure the resources needed to achieve our highest priorities — victory for Ukraine, the rebuild of Ukraine, and the strengthening of Ukrainian communities worldwide. We are proud to welcome him to the UWC leadership team.”

Juri’s appointment reflects UWC’s commitment to building strong, professional institutions capable of sustaining long‑term support for Ukraine and ensuring that Ukrainians, wherever they live, remain united, resilient, and engaged in shaping Ukraine’s future.
