The Ukrainian World Congress warmly congratulates the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB) on the occasion of their milestone 80th Annual General Meeting.
Founded in 1946 in post-war Edinburgh, AUGB is one of the oldest, largest, and most influential Ukrainian organizations in the United Kingdom. Eight decades of active work stand as a testament to the community’s unwavering dedication to supporting Ukraine, preserving national identity, and fostering Ukrainian public life in the UK.
“Today, as our spiritual homeland defends its independence against the aggression of a terrorist state, the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain does everything possible to support our brothers and sisters in Ukraine by providing strong humanitarian aid and helping the many Ukrainians displaced by the war here at home. Most importantly, it serves as the voice of the entire community in cooperation with the government and local authorities. This work is part of our most important nationwide mission — bringing Victory closer and ensuring the swiftest possible rebuilding of Ukraine,” said Ukrainian World Congress President, Paul Grod.
The UWC also sincerely congratulates Petro Rewko, member of the UWC Executive Committee, on his re-election as Chair of the AUGB. We wish him continued success in serving the Ukrainian cause.
The Ukrainian World Congress highly values the longstanding work of AUGB, which stands as a model of devoted service to Ukraine abroad. The Association has been and remains a vital partner of the UWC in protecting the interests of the Ukrainian people, advocating internationally, and preserving national memory.
