The International Educational Coordinating Council (IECC) of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), together with the World Federation of Ukrainian Women Organizations (WFUWO), is offering an online lecture titled “From the Ostrogski to the Vyshnevetsky: Ukrainian Aristocracy as a Shaper of European Politics.”
This event is part of a series called “Debunking the myths of Russian propaganda” and will take place on June 15, at 18:00 p.m. Kyiv time.
Registration is available at the following link.
“This is an invitation to members of the Ukrainian diaspora, Ukrainian schools abroad, community organizations, members of the WFUWO network, and anyone interested in Ukraine’s true history,” the organizers said.
The guest speaker is Yuliia Topolnytska, PhD in History, lecturer at the Department of Modern History of Ukraine at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and author of several textbooks and civic education programs.
“In times of war, it is vital to preserve Ukrainian identity and national awareness. Knowing and sharing accurate historical facts helps us counter the distortions and false narratives created by hostile Moscow propaganda,” the organizers said.
They emphasized that media literacy and critical thinking are powerful tools in countering information warfare.
“The war for independence continues – and so does the battle for truth. Join the conversation and help us win it together,” they said.
Earlier, pro-Russian hackers targeted a lecture in the same series titled “Medieval Phobia: Why are Russians Afraid of King Danylo Romanovych’s Legacy?” that was held on April 6.
The first lecture in the series, “The holy sinner: The forgotten baptism of Volodymyr the Great”, took place in March.
