An invitation from IECC, WFUWO to educational lecture on Ukraine’s Unity Day

The International Educational Coordinating Council (IECC) of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), together with the World Federation of Ukrainian Women Organizations (WFUWO), invite you to an educational lecture titled “Unity Day: A Historic Day for Ukraine.”

The event will take place on Jan. 22 at 7:00 p.m. Kyiv time as part of the series “Debunking the myths of Russian propaganda”, a joint project of IECC UWC and WFUWO.

“This is an important topic with meaningful insights from our speaker, Dr. Volodymyr Seriychuk, Doctor of Historical Sciences and Head of the Department of History of Global Ukrainians at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv,” the organisers said.

Organisers emphasise that knowledge of Ukraine’s true history is essential for understanding contemporary identity and countering hostile falsifications.

“Let us always remember that Russian propaganda myths and narratives destroy Ukrainian identity. Our task is to fight back and resist in order to prevail!”

Registration is required to attend the event and can be completed via the following link.

Additionally, the IECC UWC team is calling on educators in the Ukrainian diaspora to support the Unity Day initiative by holding thematic lessons for students and recording a short video with the key phrase: “We, [name of school, city, country], are united with Ukraine.”

Completed videos in horizontal format should be uploaded to the shared storage by Jan. 20, 2026.

Educational centres and structures are also encouraged to review and join the Global Ukrainians’ Declaration of Unity via the following link.
