The World Federation of Ukrainian Women Organizations (WFUWO) has announced the opening of applications for the Anna Kisil Scholarship for the study of the Ukrainian language.
“The scholarship is awarded to support participation in the summer online Ukrainian language courses, held as part of the 20th International School of Ukrainian Studies “Step to Ukraine” at the International Institute of Education, Culture, and Diaspora Relations of the Lviv Polytechnic National University,” the WFUWO said.
The courses are scheduled to take place from July 14 to 25. You can find more details about them at the following link.
All interested Ukrainian women from the diaspora aged 16 to 35 can apply for the scholarship. Applications should be submitted by June 26 to the WFUWO email address ([email protected]). In the email, applicants should provide a brief self-introduction, a personal statement: “Why are these courses important to me?” (up to 200 words), and a recommendation letter from a local Ukrainian women’s or other community organization.
The second step is registering for studies at the International School of Ukrainian Studies “Step to Ukraine.” The registration form is available at the link.
In June, scholarship applications will be reviewed, and 10 scholarship recipients will be selected.
Renowned Ukrainian diaspora activist Anna Kisil passed away in November 2020. She paid special attention to preserving the Ukrainian identity of youth abroad, particularly focusing on the study and promotion of the Ukrainian language in youth environments. The WFUWO established the scholarship honoring the activist.
“Don’t miss the opportunity to take a “Step to Ukraine” with the Anna Kisil Scholarship — honoring her significant contributions to the Ukrainian women’s movement and education!” WFUWO said.
