The Ukrainian community in Mexico, Casa de Ucrania (House of Ukraine), is launching a new short series of online broadcasts dedicated to Ukrainian music.
The project will cover a wide range of topics — from traditional folk to classical compositions and contemporary musical trends.
Live streams will air every Saturday on Instagram and YouTube in Spanish, making it accessible to a broad audience eager to explore the richness of Ukrainian musical culture.
Titled Canción Son (Song Son), the project offers breath and an area where Ukraine’s music comes alive through vibrant voices and sounds.
The hosts are two talented musicians: Kateryna Leshchenko, a singer and musician who graduated from a top music academy in Ukraine, and José Manuel Torres, a musician and scholar with over 20 years of professional experience performing as a bassist and vocalist in various choirs and orchestras.
Friends from local choral groups supporting Casa de Ucrania will also fill the programs. Viewers won’t just listen — they can engage actively by asking questions live during the broadcasts.
The first episode premieres on July 19 at 2 p.m. local time. More information is available via this link.
