Gazprombank conduit for Russian soldier pay

So far, Gazprombank has avoided severe sanctions as it is the recipient of external fossil fuel payments. Investigators have learned that it is also the payroll bank for Russia’s full-scale war on Ukraine.

Tetyana Shevchuk, lawyer for the Anti-Corruption Action Center, a Ukrainian NGO, explained, “Gazprombank is not exactly a bank. It is a bag where everyone puts money in and pays Russia for energy resources. If there is no trade, there is no money in this bag.”
