Grod: International Ukrainian and allied communities join forces as coalition

The global Ukrainian community, together with partners, including Eastern and Central European communities and the Jewish diaspora, is working as a coalition to sway international processes and strengthen support for Ukraine.

Commenting on the UWC delegation’s participation at events of the recent UN General Assembly, Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Paul Grod said that “the advantage of the UN is that it brings together leaders from 193 countries for discussion.”

He said the global Ukrainian community’s task “is to work with our partners as a coalition and influence decisions that affect Ukraine.” 

Through this coordinated effort, the global Ukrainian community can shape how citizens of UN member states view Ukraine, he said.

“That is why the UWC and our communities around the world are committed to consistently advocating for Ukraine’s interests and ensuring support from civil society. When the public supports Ukraine, politicians are compelled to do the same,” Grod said.

Earlier, Grod said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s address to the UN General Assembly was a “wake-up call” for attendees. More details on the UWC delegation’s visit to New York can be found at the following link.
