The Global Holodomor Descendants Network and the International Educational Coordinating Council (IECC) of the Ukrainian World Congress warmly invite you to participate in a special event for the launch of “We Remember” – a global student research project on family histories of Holodomor descendants.
“We Remember” is a powerful video series featuring personal testimonies from Ukrainian families recounting their experiences of the 1932–1933 genocide against Ukrainians.
This project welcomes participation from high school students attending Ukrainian weekly schools worldwide, as well as students from Ukraine, who are interested in exploring family histories of Holodomor victims’ descendants and are willing to record video interviews for the project.
Educators and parents interested in Holodomor research and education will also find the meeting valuable.
Chicagoan Olya Soroka, the chair of the Holodomor Descendants Network, and Zina Gutmanis, project leader of “We Remember,” will showcase video stories created during the 2023 project and provide guidance for those wishing to get involved.
All recorded videos will become part of the project’s archive and will be featured on the Network of Holodomor Descendants’ website this November, marking the 92nd anniversary of the Holodomor genocide.
The informational meeting is scheduled for May 28 at 9:00 p.m. Kyiv time. The event will be conducted in Ukrainian and English. You can register via the following link.
Episodes from the 2023 project are available on the Global Holodomor Descendants Network page. These videos are suitable for both adults and children.
