Russia strikes Kyiv medical clinic during overnight attack

Russia attacked a privately owned four-story medical clinic during another overnight assault on Kyiv on Jan. 5, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported

Last night, the Russian army ‘defeated’ yet another hospital – in Kyiv, with a functioning inpatient unit. Patients had to be evacuated. There are casualties. Sadly, one person has been killed,” Zelenskyy wrote.

A total of 26 patients were evacuated from the hospital. Two remain in critical condition, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said. The clinic, located in a northern Kyiv district, suffered significant damage.

Of course, Ukrainians will restore this hospital. That is the kind of people we are – Ukrainians always rebuild what has been destroyed. Likewise, repair crews, energy specialists, and all essential services are working in the regions where the Russians have caused new damage and new power outages,” Zelenskyy added.

Overnight, Russia launched 165 attack drones and nine ballistic missiles across Ukraine, the Ukrainian Air Force reported. At least three civilians were killed and 13 injured, with damage reported in 11 regions.

“As of this morning, electricity is out for consumers in Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions. The city of Slavutych is completely without power due to the enemy attack,” the Ministry of Energy said.

Russia constantly conducts airborne attacks on Ukrainian cities and villages. The Ukrainian World Congress publishes news on the largest bombardment incidents. For more detailed information on the consequences of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine, read the Victory Chronicles.
