Russia’s materiel losses on Snake Island unveiled

Ukrainian army’s rocket and artillery strikes at Snake Island destroyed a field ammo dump, a surface-to-air missile system Tor, a trailer with a diesel generator, and a small boat, according to UNIAN.

Before fleeing the island, Russian occupiers also blew up their MLRS and Tor transport and charging vehicle – probably as an illustration of their “goodwill gesture.”

Russian forces abandoned the strategic Black Sea outpost of Snake Island on Thursday in a victory for Ukraine that could loosen the grip of Russia’s blockade on Ukrainian ports, Reuters reports.

The Kremlin says it decided to withdraw from the outcrop off Ukraine’s southwestern coast as a “gesture of goodwill.” However, Ukraine says it drove the Russian forces out after an artillery and missile assault overnight.

Ukraine’s MOD Defense Intelligence did not deny itself the pleasure of “trolling” the Kremlin on its Telegram channel with a mock greeting card “Happy ‘Day of Goodwill Step.’”
