Second International Conference on Tactical Medicine in Ukraine held in framework of Ukrainian World Congress Humanitarian Initiative Patriot Defence

On 24-25 March 2016, in the framework of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) humanitarian initiative Patriot Defence, the Second International Conference on Tactical Medicine in Ukraine titled Tactical Medicine in Ukraine: Introduction into Military and Law Enforcement Academic Institutions and Training Programs, was held with the participation of the National Academy and the Military Medical Department of the Security Service of Ukraine.

Plenary sessions, round table discussions and presentations by international and Ukrainian experts, focused on the implementation of global standards for training in tactical medicine, the development of new programs for tactical medicine education, and providing first aid in the civilian sector.

The conference, held at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, civilian and military medics from Ukraine and international experts in tactical medicine from the United States and other NATO countries, including one of the founders of tactical medicine, Dr. J. F. Rick Hammesfahr, who delivered the keynote address.
