Statement by UWC President Paul Grod on Law No. 12414

We are closely monitoring the adoption of Law No. 12414, which raises serious concerns about the independence of Ukraine’s anti-corruption institutions.

We have written to the President and the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada to request clarification on the rationale behind this legislation, as our communities are deeply concerned and see significant risks. At present, there is a lack of credible information explaining the law’s intent. We will be monitoring closely to see whether it is used to support or obstruct anti-corruption efforts.
