The Ukrainian duo Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil, with their “Teresa & Maria” piece, have advanced to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, which is taking place in Malmö, Switzerland. The artists performed fifth.
The “Teresa & Maria” has long been a hit in Ukraine and among international viewers of the contest. Two-time Grammy nominee Tanu Muiño directed the performance. On stage, Ukraine presented a story about female strength, unity, and resilience in facing life’s challenges. The Ukrainian duo received loud applause from the audience.
Representatives from Serbia, Portugal, Slovenia, Lithuania, Finland, Croatia, Cyprus, Ireland, and Luxembourg are also advancing to the final of Eurovision 2024. The second semi-final will take place on May 9, with fifteen more competing countries participating. The Ukrainian singers’ next performance will be during the grand final on May 11. Bookmakers predict Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil to secure fourth place.
