Ukraine’s Olympic Committee invites diaspora journalists to join sports media contest

The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine (NOC) announced the launch of its yearly “Olympic Ukraine” sports journalism competition and called on media professionals of Ukrainian extraction to take part.

“Ukrainian sports inspire daily — from triumphs on international stages to uplifting stories in local cities and communities. […] Alongside these achievements are those who make these moments visible to millions of fans,” the organizers said.

Sports journalists, camera operators, and photographers capture every victory, emotion, and step, preserving them in words and images as part of Ukraine’s sports history.

“To recognize the work of these professionals, the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, together with the NOC Press and Communications Commission, is launching the nationwide sports journalism competition ‘Olympic Ukraine,’” the NOC said.

The 2025 competition categories include: Best Publication of the Year, Digital Project of the Year, Best Sports Journalist of the Year, Debut in Sports Journalism (“Oleksandr Mashchenko Award”), Best Radio Series of the Year, Best Regional Sports Project, Best Sports TV Production, and Best Sports Photography.

The Commission may also recognize outstanding individual author, director, or operator work.

Submissions from regional winners and self-nominees are accepted via email at [email protected] with the subject line “Olympic Ukraine” and the relevant category indicated. The deadline is Oct. 30, 2025.

Entries should be submitted as a link to YouTube, Google Drive, or another file-sharing platform (files must remain accessible). The official competition rules are available here.

“This is more than just a contest — it’s a platform for those who make sports history alongside its heroes. Participating is a chance to be noticed, showcase your work, and gain recognition at the national level,” the NOC said.

Details and registration are available here.
