Ukrainian community in Mexico brings Oleh Skrypka charity concert to Mexico City

Ukrainians in Mexico are uniting music and meaning with a charity concert by Oleh Skrypka, the iconic frontman of the Ukrainian band Vopli Vidopliassova, which is set to take place in Mexico City, the world’s sixth largest metropolitan area, on Jan. 22. 

Organized by the local Ukrainian community with support from Casa de Ucrania, the concert will be held at a 1,200-seat venue as part of the Unidos por la Vida initiative. The event’s overall production is led by Anna Shpak.

More than a live performance, organizers describe the evening as a gesture of solidarity and a celebration of cultural dialogue between Ukraine and Mexico — a space where music bridges continents and art becomes tangible support.

“Ukraine and Mexico meet on one stage — without borders or translations, only rhythm, energy, and a shared purpose,” the community wrote. “It’s a night that won’t be repeated, an experience meant to be felt with the heart.”
