Ukrainian national luge team joins weekly peace march in Lake Placid

The Ukrainian national luge team that is currently in the American city of Lake Placid for the World Cup stage, joined a weekly peace march in support of Ukraine on Dec. 18, the Ukraine’s National Olympic Committee reported.

The weekly marches in Lake Placid have been held every Wednesday for the past three years, and are aimed at showing support for Ukraine and to draw international attention to Russia’s ongoing war.

Team members participated under the leadership of the national team’s head coach and president of the Ukrainian Luge Federation, Taras Hartsula from Lviv.

Participants included internationally ranked athletes, Olympians, Youth Olympic competitors, and medalists at world and European championships: Yulianna Tunitska, Olena Stetskiv, Oleksandra Mokh, Andriy Mandziy, Anton Dukach, Ihor Hoi, Bohdan Babura, Nazariy Kachmar, and other athletes and coaches of the “blue-and-yellow” team.
