Melbourne, Australia (March 19, 2025) – The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) is proud to announce the launch of the Stefan Romaniw Youth Leadership Foundation, a visionary initiative designed to foster and empower the next generation of leaders within the global Ukrainian diaspora. The announcement was made by UWC President Paul Grod during a gala dinner held in Melbourne, Australia, as part of the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organizations (AFUO) Zyizd and Triennial General Meeting.
“Stefan Romaniw was a trailblazer and an unwavering advocate for the global Ukrainian community. His dedication to leadership and service inspires us to nurture the same commitment in our youth,” said Grod. “This foundation will serve as a catalyst for equipping young leaders with the skills and resources they need to make a lasting impact on their communities and beyond.”
As Ukraine continues to navigate critical challenges, Grod emphasized the necessity of cultivating resilient and dynamic leaders who can strengthen local communities and champion international efforts to support Ukraine. “The leaders of tomorrow will not only safeguard the values of their heritage but will also play a pivotal role in global efforts to aid Ukraine’s recovery and renewal,” he added.
Kateryna Argyrou, Chair of the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations:
“Stefan was a force of nature – an inspirational leader, a nurturing mentor and a cheerful giver. We are very proud that the Stefan Romaniw Youth Leadership Foundation will provide the necessary tools and support to foster the next generation of Ukrainian leaders and continue Stefan’s legacy.”
The Stefan Romaniw Youth Leadership Foundation will prioritize leadership development, education, and collaboration by fostering a global network of young diaspora leaders. Through programs such as UWC’s “30 Under 30,” youth leadership initiatives, and reconstruction mobilization efforts for Ukraine, the foundation seeks to inspire a generation of individuals ready to lead, innovate, and rebuild.
