CHICAGO – The Ukrainian community in Illinois rallied in downtown Chicago on Dec. 14 to condemn Russian drone attacks on civilians in the southern city of Kherson, the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) Illinois Division reported.
Russia is using drones to carry out what Ukrainian officials calls “human safari” attacks, in which occupation forces hunt civilians from the air and deliberately target civilians.
The drones drop explosives directly onto streets where pedestrians and public transport passengers are present. Residents are forced to stay indoors, while local authorities advise people not to go outside without first-aid supplies.
“This is the worst of evil — human safari. People are attacked in the streets and near their homes. If russia is not stopped, your city could be next,” UCCA Illinois said.
The rally in Chicago included messaging that urged the international community not to remain indifferent.
