UWC Calls Out Moscow’s Latest Propaganda Strategies

The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) condemns efforts aimed at creating divisions among Ukrainians and our allies. Moscow’s continuous efforts to weaken the international coalition in support of Ukraine continues to take new shapes with similar themes.

“Moscow’s international disinformation campaign is gathering momentum and taking new forms in an attempt sow discord between Ukraine and its allies,” stated UWC President Paul Grod. “Russia is manufacturing false narratives of present-day and historical grievances in attempts to turn allies against one another. We must be vigilant and stay united against Russia’s imperialist ambitions which is the biggest threat to global peace and security.”

Over the past several months we have witnessed increased efforts to discredit Ukraine’s historical struggle for independence by calling it a construct of the Nazi ideology. Branding Ukrainians as Nazis is being used by the Kremlin as a justification for Russia’s genocidal war in Ukraine.

Recently, we have identified groups across Europe masquerading as grassroots Ukrainian activists, protesting the Polish and other allied governments, making unsubstantiated accusations of targeted attacks and sexual assaults on Ukrainian refugees, smear campaigns against legitimate community leaders, and other forms of disinformation intended to incite hatred.

“We condemn all actions and manifestations, such as promoting separatist or imperialist symbols and spreading false narratives, intended to create distrust among the multi-cultural societies of Eastern Europe,” stated Grod. “Protests in front of Polish and other allied embassies in European capitals by small groups of alleged Ukrainian activists is deplorable. The UWC condemns any efforts to undermine the unbreakable unity between Ukrainians, Poles and other allies. The Polish people continue to be among Ukraine’s staunchest allies and supporters. We are aware of these disinformation campaigns and will not be manipulated.”

“Ukrainians and our allies must call out all attempts, regardless how subtle, to twist historical truths and manipulate current events to break the coalition in support of Ukraine.”

The UWC will continue to monitor and report on provocations sponsored and orchestrated by the Kremlin together with its network of special agents and pro-Moscow influencers.
