UWC delegation meets Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration during August visit to Ukraine

A Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) delegation met with representatives of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration during an official visit to Ukraine on Aug. 28. The meeting wasn’t earlier announced until recently for security reasons.

The delegation included UWC President Paul Grod, Director of the UWC Unite with Ukraine initiative Andrew Potichnyj, Head of the UWC mission to Ukraine Andriy Shevchenko, UWC Vice-President Zenon Potoczny, President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Alexandra Chyczij, and Chair of the Ukrainian National Association Yuriy Klyufas.

Discussions covered the UWC’s areas of activity, the general situation in the region, evacuation efforts, veteran support, and social and educational issues. The parties also talked about general support and future cooperation.

“We covered all possible areas where we can achieve maximum results together. […] It was a very substantive discussion,” said Nadiia Zadorozhna, Deputy Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration.

The parties also discussed the exchange of experience, expanding cooperation between business communities, improving living conditions for the population, reconstruction, and municipal partnerships.

“This is the first major visit by a UWC delegation to cities across Ukraine since 2022. The UWC constantly supports our military, educational and medical institutions, and most importantly, they tell the truth about what is happening in Ukraine in 80 countries around the world,” Zadorozhna said.

The Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration expressed its gratitude to the UWC for its “involvement and support.”

The official visit of the UWC delegation took place from Aug. 23 to 28. Among other events, the organization’s leaders celebrated Independence Day with the country’s leadership and met with President Zelenskyy, government officials, and members of parliament.
