UWC expands global network with 14 new member organizations

The Board of Directors of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) approved the expansion of the organization’s network on March 28. Fourteen new associations from Europe, Asia, and South America officially joined the UWC following a review by the Membership Committee during the first quarter of 2026.

Five organizations were granted Full Member status:

  • Ukrainians in the Netherlands Foundation (Netherlands) – Now recognized as the country’s central representative body. Since 2014, this key humanitarian hub has raised over €2 million in aid and remains actively engaged in advocating for Ukraine’s interests.
  • Ukrainian Association of Culture, Mutual Aid and Solidarity in Konya (Turkey) – This group consolidates the community in central Turkey, promotes traditions, and supports educational projects for youth.
  • Franko Ukrainian community in Sumgait (Azerbaijan) – Operates the “Dzherelo” cultural and educational center, which features a Saturday school, a library, and choir ensembles.
  • Foundation for the Ukrainian Community of Malta– A coordination center for volunteer aid and public events that shapes a pro-Ukrainian agenda on the island.
  • Foundation “Ukrainian House in Warsaw” (Poland) – One of the most influential organizations in the region, coordinating thousands of volunteers, developing a network of schools, and defending the rights of Ukrainians in Poland.

Nine additional organizations joined the UWC as Associate Members:

  • Ucraina Più – Milano APS (Italy) – Develops an independent cultural space in Milan, organizing literary festivals and art projects highlighting historical ties between Ukraine and Italy.
  • Ukrainian House in Paphos (Cyprus) – A platform for cultural exchange, film screenings, and creative workshops that support Ukrainian identity.
  • Community of Ukrainian-Cypriot Friendship (Cyprus) – Established Plast (scouting) in Cyprus and the “Kryla” educational center; the group has also raised tens of thousands of euros for medical aid to Ukraine.
  • Foundation “Ukrainian Scientific Diaspora in Poland” – Connects scientists for professional exchange and integrates Ukrainian intellectual potential into the European research space.
  • NGO “Ukrainian Women in Kazakhstan” – Focuses on preserving historical memory, charitable work, and promoting the Ukrainian language in the Karaganda region.
  • Peruvian-Ukrainian Association (Peru) – Organizes large-scale “Ukrainian Tastes” festivals and children’s clubs; it has raised approximately $18,500 for Ukraine’s needs.
  • Cultural Society “Ljubljana – Kyiv” (Slovenia) – Provides Slovenian language courses for displaced persons and organizes Ukrainian Culture Days.
  • Association of Ukrainians of Slovenia “Razom” – The country’s largest hub, implementing programs for professional integration and supporting the reconstruction of Ukraine.
  • Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Society “Kobzar” (Croatia) – Publishes the “Slovo Kobzarya” magazine and hosts cultural events to introduce the Croatian public to Ukrainian history.

The new UWC members bring extensive experience in volunteering and advocacy. For instance, the community in the Netherlands has raised over €2 million in aid, while Ukrainians in Peru and Cyprus actively hold charity events and rallies in support of Ukraine. In Azerbaijan and Poland, these organizations also manage Ukrainian schools and cultural centers.
