The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) joins G7 Ambassadors, the Mission of the European Union to Ukraine and the World Health Organization (WHO) in expressing full support for the healthcare reform plan as proposed by Acting Minister of Health of Ukraine Dr. Ulana Suprun.

The proposed healthcare reform plan includes the introduction of universal health coverage through the National Health Service of Ukraine ensuring equal access to health care, a standardized set of medical services for all citizens that will be financially covered by the state, and the adoption of international medical guidelines that will allow for the evaluation of the quality of service.

The healthcare model being proposed and the corresponding draft laws have been developed for Ukraine by Ukrainian experts working together with the WHO, and are based on similar systems operating in Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Great Britain, Italy, Norway, Spain and Poland.

“The Ukrainian World Congress urges the governing authorities and people of Ukraine to embrace the proposed healthcare reforms demonstrating a continued commitment to the reform process and Ukraine’s European integration for the betterment of all Ukrainian citizens,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
