On 22 April 2019, the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) International Election Observation Mission released its Preliminary Observations during a press conference held at the Ukraine Crisis Media Centre in Kyiv, Ukraine, confirming that the 2019 Presidential Election in Ukraine met international standards for the conduct of democratic elections.

The UWC Mission, which numbered 249 observers from 18 countries, will publish a comprehensive final report, offering recommendations regarding the electoral process. In particular, they concern the timing of the debate between the candidates, the “day of silence”, equal access of candidates to mass media, and the timelines for contesting the results before the courts.

“The governing authorities of Ukraine made considerable efforts to ensure that the election would be transparent and conducted at the highest level. Law enforcement agencies also secured  the electoral process despite ongoing Russian hybrid aggression against Ukraine” – stated Head of the UWC Mission Eugene Czolij.
