UKRAINIAN NATIONAL CREDIT UNION ASSOCIATION
On June 11, 2011, the President of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), Eugene Czolij, attended the Annual Conference and AGM of the Ukrainian National Credit Union Association (UNCUA). Both meetings were held at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Warren, USA, with the participation of 40 delegates representing 13 credit unions.
Eugene Czolij addressed participants at the conference and AGM, focusing on UWC’s broadened cooperation with high-level international institutions and governments in countries of the Ukrainian diaspora, primarily with a view to strengthening the defense of the fundamental rights and freedoms of Ukrainians. He noted the work of the UNCUA, which unites and coordinates the activities of Ukrainian financial institutions in the United States, ensuring that they remain strong and continue to develop, while also contributing to the rebirth and expansion of the cooperative movement in Ukraine. The UWC President congratulated Bohdan Kurczak on his election as Chairman of the UNCUA Board of Directors and Orysia Burdiak as UNCUA President. He also recognized the past Chairman of the UNCUA Board of Directors, Bohdan Watral, for his many years of dedicated service to the association. In conclusion, Eugene Czolij expressed gratitude to all the Ukrainian credit unions that financially supported the UWC in 2010. In recognition, he presented UWC President’s Club certificates “for significant financial contribution in support of UWC work” to Self Reliance New York Federal Credit Union, Self Reliance (NJ) Federal Credit Union in Clifton and SUMA (Yonkers) Federal Credit Union.
