The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) has published its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting the active engagement of Ukrainians worldwide and measurable progress in securing international support for Ukraine.
“The year 2025 was one of courage, unity and measurable progress. In the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression, the Ukrainian World Congress stood shoulder to shoulder with the defenders of Ukraine, volunteers and the millions of Ukrainians worldwide who stood up to an imperial regime,” UWC President Paul Grod said.
Three strategic priorities were UWC’s focus this year. They are ensuring Ukraine’s victory, supporting its recovery, and strengthening a united global Ukrainian community.
In advocacy and support for Ukraine’s victory, the UWC staged more than 2,000 events across 75 countries, keeping Ukraine’s struggle at the forefront in international centers of power — from the UN General Assembly to European capitals.
Key initiatives included advocating for the enablement to confiscate frozen Russian assets for Ukraine’s reconstruction and lobbying for international support to return deported Ukrainian children.
The Unite with Ukraine initiative became a crucial part of assistance to Ukrainian defenders. Over the year, it delivered critical equipment valued at more than 20 million Canadian dollars ($14,309 million), including 15 tracked armored personnel carriers, a medically equipped Sikorsky S-76A helicopter, advanced mobile life-support systems (MOVES SLC), and hundreds of first-person view drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since February 2022, the initiative has provided over 105.8 million Canadian dollars ($75.137 million) in support.
In supporting Ukraine’s recovery, the UWC played a key role in the adoption of the historic multiple citizenship law in July 2025. This legislation established a foundation for uniting millions of Ukrainians abroad with their homeland on equal terms, enhancing their ability to participate in reconstruction efforts.
The Energize Ukraine initiative also actively contributed to restoring energy infrastructure, returning electricity to 4 million Ukrainians across hundreds of thousands of homes, hospitals, and schools.
To strengthen a united global Ukrainian community, the UWC reinforced support for Ukrainian identity and education, assisting over 350 Ukrainian schools worldwide. A landmark event, the “Education Marathon,” brought together the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and 987 educators from 63 countries to collaboratively develop legislative proposals.
The UWC also launched the Stefan Romaniw Youth Leadership Foundation to expand opportunities for the next generation of global Ukrainian leaders, involving them in Ukrainian affairs and reconstruction efforts.
Looking ahead, the UWC has declared 2026 the Year of Global Ukrainian Unity, emphasizing the expansion of its presence and shaping Ukraine’s future.
